Job Title: Americas Regional Network Technical Director

Are you ready to lead and innovate in the dynamic world of network services? As the Americas Regional Network Technical Director, you'll be at the forefront of driving significant regional projects, encouraging customer intimacy, and supporting Global Network Services (GNS) priorities. Your role will be pivotal in aligning projects with business needs, ensuring technical standards are met, and facilitating collaborator dialogue. You'll stay close to the business, educating GNS on regional significance, and driving end-of-life forecasting. With a network operational budget of over $55 million, you'll be the authority for the Americas region, guiding initiatives and supporting colleagues.

Accountabilities:

  • In collaboration with collaborators, define the overall Network Vision and drive all aspects of the Network Strategy.

  • Accountable for Global AstraZeneca Network Services, Projects, Operations, Security, and budget.

  • Partner with cross-technology teams to deliver innovation and deployment of Next Gen Wireless Network, LAN/WAN, Cloud, Security solutions.

  • Understand evolving work trends in design, engineering, and modeling applications supported by network infrastructure.

  • Maintain effective relationships across IT, business customers, and network partners & vendors.

  • Provide technical leadership for critical regional projects and ensure timely delivery.

  • Manage relationships with network hardware and software vendors.

  • Sustain deep knowledge of network products and environments.

  • Keep proximity to project Delivery function for clarity on portfolio needs and priorities.

  • Build strong working relationships with Global IT functions and key customers.

  • Coordinate network risk for the region and mitigate risks where appropriate.

  • Ensure vendors honor contract obligations in the region.

  • Lead network device end-of-service life forecasting and secure appropriate funding.

  • Drive global continuous improvement across all service aspects.

Collaborate with Network Reliability Engineering across ITIL disciplines.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience

  • CCIE certification or equivalent working experience in large-scale network architecture design

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Confident presenter

  • Demonstrated management experience of matrix and multicultural teams

  • Experience in formulating successful strategic plans

  • Experience working with Senior IT leadership

  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships

  • Significant experience working with vendors

  • Ability to lead and encourage individuals

  • Encourages personal development aligned with Network strategy

  • Understanding of network patterns and approach

  • Bring Automation first approach

  • In-depth experience in SD-WAN, Wireless, Network Security

  • Deep technical knowledge in high availability design

  • Large enterprise working experience is an added advantag

  • Alignment with AZ Values and Behaviors

  • Agile Enterprise mentality

  • Self-starter who develops new skills proactively

  • Excellent influencing, networking, and collaborative working skills

  • Ability to work well in diverse matrixed global teams

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Several years of exposure or direct management of IT service vendors.

  • Professional certification on Project Management and Agile ways of working.

  • Other Professional certifications around relationship or vendor management.

  • Experience working in a global organization, preferably within the pharmaceuticals industry.

  • Outstanding communication and social skills.

  • Experience working in a customer focused organization.

  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
